Cleaning of Tellurium

We are having difficulty plating silver over a copper strike onto tellurium copper. We have no problem getting plating to stick to our beryllium copper but the same cleaning sequence is not working for the tellurium. Would anyone have a suggestion or like to share what they use to successfully clean tellurium copper with?
