Seeking plating thickness measurement machine

I am looking for an x-ray machine for the measurement of plating thickness on small steel components. I would like to hear from people who are using such machines. I plan to buy a used machine.

Ed. note: Sorry, this RFQ for private contact is now outdated, but public technical replies are still welcome. No public brand/source suggestions please ( huh? why?)

We have a Veeco at our lab in Rock Hill if you would like to try it. I would make one comment on buying a used x-ray machine is that you get a warranty on the tube. If the tube goes you will be out about $5000 to buy and install a new one.
