-----Seeking Hexavalent Free Chromates
Hello,
Can you suggest me some of the suppliers of Non-Hexavalent Chromates ASAP? Basically the suppliers that deal with Trivalent Chromates or any other Chromate that Hex-Free and/or meet the GM specs 3044 & 3059.
Thanks,
- Dayton, Ohio, USA
Virtually all plating chemical suppliers have trivalent chromates available. You may want to begin with your current supplier of hexavalent chemicals since they will be most familiar with your applications. Some larger suppliers include: Macdermid, Dipsol, Atotech-McGean, Luster-On, Pavco, and Enthone. (In no particular order) All of these suppliers are reputable and experienced.

GM has been creating an "approved supplier list" that lists both the plater and the chemical supplier. You may want to start by looking through this list.
Most major plating chemical companies have trivalent chromates available, so ask around. Also, many platers in the Midwest are using these processes.

Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
