Sodium hypochlorite as a source of chlorine in water disinfection



 

Dear sir,

I shall appreciate the details of sodium hypochlorite as

i)laundry bleach

ii)as disinfecting product for potable waters

Does sod. hypochlorite act as chlorine source for disinfection? Please quote a few chem. references on that.
