Anodizing Aluminium to a stainless steel color

(1998)

We want to anodize aluminium in other colors then silver, brass, bronze or natural colored. We are looking for finishes like grey or stainless-steel.

Any advice would be appreciated

The larger dye companies such as Novamax and Clariant make nearly any color that you can imagine. They mix dye colors to provide virtually any shade of the rainbow.

We run two large job shop anodize plants here & do both grey & stainless steel colors. If you are looking to purchase dyes I suggest you try Clariant Corp or US Specialty.

Axel - Try Italtecno in Modena, Italy. They have a process that will give you blue, green and grey. You need a special power supply that they will sell. I visited their plant last year and the colors looked good.

I am studying Design technology for one of my a-levels. For my project I am considering anodizing aluminium. Any information about the process/cost or any other information would be useful. I want to use colors as opposed to natural metal metal finishes. Please help if you can!

Louise, nearly any of the metal finishing "must-have" books will have a chapter on anodizing, which is probably a good enough start for a student. But if you need a whole book on anodizing, Amazon has several.

My question is:

When you do a surface-treatment on aluminium with anodically oxidizes, the factor C ( kcal/m^2.h.K^4) will be 1.8 to 4.3. The question is now, how is that possible or it will depend on the process?

I live in Mexico City, and I want to know the international price for the anodizing, Duranodic, brass, black, natural, the price in Mexico is:

Duranodic $30.00 per square meter.

Natural $10.00 per square meter.

Brass $28.00 per square meter.

Black $30.00 per square meter.

This cost is in pesos the change is $9.30 pesos per Dollar.

Thanks for you help.
