Miralloy, Optalloy, Albaloy, or "white bronze"
We are looking for a domestic source of Copper/Tin alloy plating such as Miralloy, Optalloy, Albaloy, or "white bronze" (55% Cu, 45%Sn).
There doesn't seem to be many people doing this type of work.
We are also interested in determining who manufactures and/or distributes the chemistry for these process baths as we may consider bringing the process in house if necessary (we have in-house metal finishing operations at present).
Any comments and or insights would be a great help. Please respond if you would be interested in utilizing a domestic source for this type of plating.Doug Smith
The plated coating you are interested in is called speculum. I don't know who mfgs it, but a lot of information can be found in Brenners books on alloy plating. He gives most of the info that you would need.Tom Sivula

Albaloy is the trade name for a ternary alloy (Cu, Sn, Zn) process marketed by the former M & T; Chemicals (now Atotech). If you contact them, they will be able to inform you of any users of the process.
