Bibliography for hydrogen embrittlement in hard chrome plating

1998

Dear sir:

I've read your comments about "hydrogen embrittlement" in Metal Finishing magazine (page 51, Dec. 1996). I would really thank you for any information or bibliography about "Hydrogen embrittlement" on Hard Chrome plating process.

Thank you!

In addition to the book mentioned in that article, and the standards mentioned, I think you will find the following article extremely interesting: "Controversy Concerning ASTM B849-02 & ASTM B850-98", by Allen W. Grobin, Jr., Plating & Surface Finishing magazine, Jan. 1997, p.59-63.

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW HOW TO OBTAIN COPIES OF THE ARTICLES AS MENTIONED IN THE ABOVE MAGAZINES (METAL FINISHING MAGAZINE AND PLATING AND SURFACE FINISHING MAGAZINE.) I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO FIND THESE MAGAZINES ON THE WEB. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME.

Metal Finishing is published by Elsevier Science. Here's a link to order a subscription through Amazon or Elsevier, or to request a free subscription if qualified: Metal Finishing.

Plating & Surface Finishing is published by the American Electroplaters and Surface Finishers Society (www.nasf.org). If you join the society, a subscription is included with your dues. Those articles are copyrighted though -- you can't expect to get them for free on the web; you probably have to go to one of the internet services that sells copies like surfacequery.com. Good luck.
