Lacquer designed to withstand a bake

Our current process for a particular part is to zinc plate, bake at 400 degrees F for 4 hours, and then clear chromate and apply by immersion a water based lacquer. We would like to find a water based lacquer which will withstand the bake and still give the corrosion protection which it was designed for. This would allow us to chromate and lacquer the parts before the bake, eliminating the need to rack and run the parts down the process line a second time. Any help would be very much appreciated.

I'm sorry if I missed something, but it is the clear chromate that you are protecting by not baking it, right

What is the corrosion protection the part must meet? Do you have a salt spray hour you must meet? How far short do you fall when you try to chromate and lacquer before baking?

Falls Township,

I'm a furniture refinisher looking for a water based lacquer, environmentally friendly, for spraying. Ideally, all the attributes of nitros-celloluse lacquer. Fast drying, chemical resistant, non yellowing, etc. Can you help with info. Thanks.

I am trying to get in touch with McFadden finishing co. I am not sure if they produce nitro lacquer or precat lacquer but I hear it is great for stringed instruments. Can anyone help me? Mahalo! Derek
