Electroless nickel deposited onto aluminum for shielding

(1996)

Looking for information on EMI Shielding on Alum.5052-H32 & 6061-T6 in regards to plating. What kind of Plating to use, how thick should plating be? That kind of information. Know of any articles or books that cover subject? Any help is appreciated.

We have successfully employed electroless nickel deposited directly onto aluminum for shielding. The thickness of the nickel required depends upon corrosion resistance requirements and frequency of what you need to shield from. We find that 500 microinches minimum is a good start.
