Stablizer for Hydrogen Peroxide - H2O2

I am looking for a stabilizer for hydrogen peroxide in a solution containing diluted sulfuric acid with peroxide used for copper deoxidizing.

A company called Electrochemicals in Youngstown, Ohio used to market this when I worked for a sister company many years ago. Perhaps they still do.

Just to clear the record. Electrochemicals is located in Minnesota now. The product you want is Cobra-etch stabilizer. Ask for Michael Carrano and say Rich Zuendt sent you.

Good luck,

I am selling Hydrogen Peroxide locally. The problem I and my customers are facing is that Hydrogen Peroxide loses its strength very rapidly. So I was looking forward to know if there is any chemical(stabilizer) that can be added to it to make it more stable and increasing its shelf life and do not harm its properties any possible way.

The situation is that there are numerous stabilizers for peroxide--some organic, some inorganic--that have been tried with varying degrees of success. If you do a literature search you will see many articles, not only in the U.S. trade journals, but all around the world. However, the agents that have been found to work well are the subject of numerous patents in the U.S. and worldwide.

So, you basically have a choice between doing a literature search, then reading a large number of articles, then doing some development work, and then picking those stabilizers which were not patented because they were inferior--or going to a proprietary stabilizer.

I think this particular make-or-buy decision is an easy one.

Tartrazine could be tried as Hydrogen Peroxide stabilizer. Some development work needs to be done before finalising this system.
