Self-help guru, Wayne Dyer, had a blockbuster on his hands from the moment he coined its title: YOUR ERRONEOUS ZONES. A well-turned phrase works its subconscious magic, evoking a reaction and opinion long before we critically examine the idea itself.
For example, all of us get the "warm fuzzies" and feel the urge to cooperate with any appeal which is based upon a "spirit of conciliation". And well we should. But change the logic and only tweak the phrase, and the same warmth is immediately bestowed upon "in the spirit of consolidation".
In comparing the plan to consolidate the industry and dissolve the AESF against the plan to save the AESF as an independent educational society, please critically examine the actual ideas. -- Ted Mooney, finishing.com
