Hello to all my fellow "4th Avenue inmates"! (ha ha) Looks like I'm the first from 1968 to stumble through the door.
Ted, thanks for telling us about this website. I turn 47 next week, and this is the nicest birthday present I could've gotten. Ted's sister Mary Mooney was in my class, as was (Al's sister) Marion Smeraldo. I got to see both of them - and about 7 other classmates - at the mass reunion in 1990 when the parish was closing. I still have that mini-class picture somewhere. I say: let's get all of those other siblings to report in here, if possible.
I went to Seton Hall Prep (with Michael Pigott and Ed Dabkowski from my class), and then Seton Hall University. I've been doing mainframe computer programming since 1977, the last 10 years as an independent consultant. Bounced around northern NJ for many years, then moved to Burbank, CA in 1997. Now I'm in North Hollywood, CA. I'm on my second marriage (don't tell the nuns), with a 13 year-old stepson.
I will try to find the class of 1968 reunion picture from 1990. Maybe we can get it on the website. I hope more of my class will soon check in here.
Love to all. Kevin

hi everyone. i'm living at the jersey shore with my husband of 21 years and 2 daughters. one in college and one in high school. i've been working for the past 20 years as an x-ray tech. which i really enjoy. after olas i went to the valley and then on to st. michael's hospital in newark for radiologic technology. last year i started talking to one of my daughters teachers and it turns out she graduated from OLAS, Chris Norton. It really is a small world.

Kevin & Debbie,
This is like waking up from a dream! I can't believe that mass reunion was 13 years ago. It was so much fun. I have the pictures that Kathleen Hart sent to all of us who were at the mega reunion, but I probably won't know how to get them on here. I'll ask one of the kids, I'm sure they'll know. I'd love to be in California right now, Kevin. It's freeezing here again.
Debbie, I remember going to your house on Watchung Ave.(?), W. O. It was like going on a real adventure to leave E. Orange. I remember your brother Albee was so funny. What a coincidence having one of the Norton's as your daughter's teachers. I have a strange coincidence, too. Three years ago, we bought a house in Livingston after being in W.O. for 17 years (not far from your old house). When the realtor was showing us the house in Livingston, I opened a closet door to find an E.O. Police uniform hanging in the closet. I quickly shut the door and asked the realtor who the owner of the house was. She said he was a retired Police captain in E.O. and his name was James Mantore, Jimmy's father. I met Jimmy a few weeks later, along with his sister, Christine. They both look great, the years have been very good to them. I remember him sitting behind me always putting his pen in my hair, he said he didn't remember it.
He also lived in California for a few years, and I guess he goes back and forth between here and there. His parents moved to the shore in a retirement community, I think in Hollywood City.
Stay well and keep posting. I will try to get others to post.

Hi Kevin, Debbie & Marian....Well I just stumbled onto the web site and the class photo of 68 nearly blew my mind. Glad to hear you are all doing well. I myself live in Nutley NJ, Im a practicing Physical Therapist, married with 2 sons. Great story Marian....Is that the house on Bonnyview Dr. I pass it often. I recently received info from Barbara Hinnant, Jimmy's old HS sweetheart and they are actually living together...Life is somethig huh. They are doing well and living in the south Jersey area. I remember the big reunion, it was great seeing so many old faces.....I hope there will be another soon. If you know the where abouts of any other classmates please let me know. Be well and talk to you all soon.

Anthony, so good to hear from you and that you're doing well. Yes, it's the house on Bonnyview, how did you know? It really freaked me out because of all the tons of houses I looked at, I never opened any of the closets except that one, and I have no idea why I did. Such a small world (and a great house). Another coincidence was that Christine Mantore dated my brother-in-law.
I'm happy to hear about Barbara and Jimmy. I actually met Barbara when we were bridesmaids for Linda Codomo many years ago, and think she and Jimmy had just gone their separate ways. Wish them the best for me.
Can't find too many others from our class, been trying to get Mary and Lori and Linda to post, as you probably know from reading message 001a,b & c, but they must be too busy or too shy. It took me weeks to read through all those messages before I finally posted, so maybe they're still reading them too. I sent the website address to the list of '68ers we had from the reunion, but half of them came back as having moved, think yours did too. Enjoyed reading your brother's post and all the neighborhood people who didn't go to OLAS too. Hope to find others who will post.
Take care, ttys.

Hey, Jim, great to see you on here. So happy to hear about you and Barbara, all the best to you. Can't handle too many beers, but love talk about the old days. Hope some of the others find their way here and post. Regards to your family, I'm still in love with #8. I now understand why your mom had a hard time making the move.

Yes, Anthony, I'm still here. Good to hear from you. I also heard about Jimmy & Barbara (through Christine Mantore who I ran into at her job). So happy for all of them, it's like a storybook romance! Lori Walsh, Mary Mooney and I met for dinner about a year ago, had a great time, can't believe a whole year has passed, but have seen Mary since. I also came across old pics of Kevin Hayes, Keith Prescott, Joe Crotty and my brother Joe (Rock). Joe was up from SC in May with his boys celebrating his youngest's graduation from college. My youngest son is a patient of Dr. Dellanno (Ronnie) who was telling him some good stories about the "old days" and things I hadn't thought about for a long time. It really is a small world. Hope all is well with you and your family.

I stumbled onto this site by accident. What great memories you all have shared. Someone was curious who owned Visco's sporting goods. It was my dad's cousin, his daughter Marylou went to EOCH with me. I am living in Denville and have 3 teenage boys, the oldest just starting college. My sister Arthurette still lives in Bloomfield. The class photos were a trip. Was my hair really that short? Anthony, did you have a deli in Randolph on Rt 10 at one time? Would love to get together sometime. Oh yeah Marian, I never forgot the notebook story. Paula Class of 1968

Hello again, '68 folks. It's been a long time since I did the first post here for our class, back in 2001. I think I read a few of the follow-up posts in '02 and '03, and then I just forgot about this site for the past few years. For some inexplicable reason, the other day I thought about our class and just started listing as many classmates as I could remember without the graduation picture in front of me. Then today I Googled OLAS, reconnected with this site and saw our class picture, and realized that I only remembered 30 names out of 41, not counting myself. (Pretty baaaad memory!) Even worse, I'm looking at a few of the other faces in the picture, and drawing a big blank as to their names. Heeellpp!!! I just moved to Tampa, FL, from the Los Angeles area. I felt rather isolated from friends and family after 10 years out there, so I thought I'd try it here on the Gulf Coast. Unfortunately, I moved in July when it's hot as he**!! And the traffic here is annoying. (I could've had this much aggravation if I stayed in North Jersey!) So maybe I won't survive in Tampa for too long, but I definitely want to stay in the South over the winters - someplace with almost no chance of snow. Since my e-mail address is different than the one I had in 2001, and since the posts on this site are rather infrequent, maybe I will use my Yahoo ID to e-mail the addresses that each of you last posted, and see if I can connect with some of you that way. If anyone from '68 reads this, pls feel free to contact me at businessoptionsconsulting@yahoo.com. I'll keep checking here more regularly for any new posts. I sure wish a lot more of our class would find this site and check in. I often wonder how many of us are still around (and where?). OK, now I'm getting too morbid. With all my best wishes, Kevin Mulhern

I was reminiscing over some old East Orange stories with a colleague and he directed me to this site. When I clicked on the graduation picture I could not stop *&^%$(**! I called my sisters - Donna and Elizabeth!

I would be willing to help organize a class get together. I finally got married at 43 for the first hopefully the last time. Live in Mendham and have four sons 9 and under.Still stay in touch with Steve Ippolito and Mike Decker.Coaching my son at St. Joe's third grade basketball team brings back fond memories of OLAS and all of you.I also remember spending alot of time in Sister Helen's bad row and getting hit by every teacher in each grade(all well deserved).I finally channeled my energy as a Certified Financial Planner for the past 30 years.Anyone know how to reach Sister Mary Kenneth our 8th grade teacher. She was great. Wish all a blessed Christmas. God Bless

Hi All, My dear friend, Donna DeCapua (1967) told me about the site - great job! We were among the Warrington Place girls. I am on the west coast and don't get back to Jersey too often. I am sure Warrington Place, Grove Street, Ampere (?) Plaza are still there; maybe a bit different... I hear from Linda Visco (now Gendreau) at Chrstmas. We have kept in touch. And, of course, Donna DeCapua with whom I have shared so many wonderful memories of EO. Remember the CYO?? And Mrs. Wagmen? Still an active, practicing Catholic...can't change some behaviors! I live in beautiful Carmel, CA (Clint was our mayor)with my husband of 35 years. I have 3 grown children who cannot even fathom how their Mom grew up. - the 30 y/o just got married. We spent 21 years living all over the world w/ the US Army and finally settled here. I love the class photo and the reunion, as well. Where have the years gone...You all look great! It looks like most of you stayed in NJ...I get back for my East Coast 'fix' about once a year. Would love to get together with any classmates my next trip ... All the best in 2009...lets keep in touch. It is great to remember a time so simple...
Love to all! I am sure we have all aged quite gracefully....
