GUESTBOOK, Class of 1961

Nov. 14, 2001

Hello to all...especially the class of '61!

Am currently living in Toms River, NJ working in the Berkeley Township Schools. Have been wondering about the OLAS class. Haven't run into anyone from OLAS since high school. I went to CJ Scott with several others. Hope to hear from a former class of '61er. -- Joanne

Hi. Nice web page. I've just recently made contact thru Classmates.com with several of my classmates from the Class of 1961. Through Mary Robinson I've contacted: Carol Colucci, Elain Quinn, Dymphna Hunt, Sally Malia, Terry Finn, and Joanne Meravi. Ever since 1961 I've been in contact with Joe Montano, Denny Pearsall, John Neary and Jimmy Najmowski. We are currently talking about a mini reunion sometime in the spring or early summer. I have a class graduation picture somewhere. I'll try to find it and send it to you. Den

Hello everyone,

Great job. This can be a blast. We all have fond memories of OLAS and East Orange to share. Our bodies have all changed a little but our memories haven't.

I'm a RN, my area of specialty is the health & safety of workers. I have two grown children, Dawn and Brant. I'm still in NJ living in Milford Hunterdon County.

As Denny mentioned I've been in touch with OLAS grads and can't wait to pass this website on to them.

I am currently living in Bloomfield and working for Bloomfield High School. I would love to have an OLAS reunion. The last reunion for all OLAS graduates was awhile ago. I was unable to attend the ceremony for the closing of the church. Elaine Quinn, Dymphna (Dee) Hunt, Sally Malia, Melba and Janice Robinson, and myself have gotten together several times.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hi, to all other OLAS grads:

Boy, where to begin...

I married in 1972 and lived in EO until 1974 when we moved to Nassau NY. That's a small town in Upper NY, not the Nassau on Long Island (I wish). I was a stay-at-home Mom until 1978, when I started working for the United States Postal Service. I've been with them ever since. I am now the postmaster of Grafton, NY 12082 (in case any one wants to send a note) It's a small office, used to be a one room school house, built in 1887. I love it. It keeps me out of trouble, as Sr. John Maureen and Sr. Patricia would understand.

I am now divorced (Sorry, Sisters.. I couldn't help it)

But happily, I am also now a grandma. Do you believe that snotty little wet-the-pants girl is now a GrandMa?

I love being a Grandma, Liam calls me Neena. Can't say NaNa yet.

Risking sounding maudlin, often during these troubled times, my brother Tom and I talk about the teaching that the Srs. of Charity gave us. They were right on. Especially their cautions on global trading, etc.

THEY never said the Crusades were evil undertakings, did they?

Anyway, I think we were all pretty fortunate to have the basic education we had.

Love to hear from all of you.

Love,
Sally

Hi Classmates,

This web site is a terrific way of helping all of us keep in touch. Thanks for setting it up.

I've had mini-reunions in the last few years with Sally Malia, Elaine Quinn, Carol Colucci, Melba and Janice Robinson. We had such a good time recalling old memories and are still in touch with each other. Thank God for e-mail.

After OLAS, I went on to and graduated from EOCH.

I was married in 1968 and have two wonderful children. Joe is married to Erin and they have blessed me with 3 beautiful grandchildren. Tara married Dennis a year ago. They all live in NJ.

After 23 years of marriage my husband passed away. Four years later I remarried and then unfortunately, was widowed again this past January. And who do you think showed up to support me at John's memorial service, but my good old girlfriends from OLAS! They're the best.

I took early retirement 4 years ago from M&M/Mars candy company after 13 years with them.

Now I split my time between living in Hackettstown, NJ and Stuart, FL. I've become a 'snow bird'. As far as I can see, its the best of both worlds.

Would love to correspond with other classmates.

Hi to class of 1961,

I attended OALS from 1953 to 1957 then moved to Newark and graduated from St. Patrick's in 1961.

I am in the 1957 class photo, and still have my copy, top row third from the left next to Joyce.

I now live in Tallahasse Florida and work for the state's Division of Forestry as a Construction Administrator.

I have two children from my first marriage, divorced after 7 years but still married to my second wife after 22 good years.

I would like to hear from anyone who remembers me and I remember a few faces in the 1957 photo, like Dennis Carrol, Dymphna Hunt, Sally, Nelson L., Tommy H., David L., Joyce R. and of course Sister I.

Good luck on your class reunion.

Dennis

Hi to all from the Class of 61':

Just recently moved from Madison to Little Egg Harbor (exit 58 off the GSP). My husband, John and I have been married for 35 years and have four sons. Two are married to wonderful women and each of them has a daughter so we are proud to be called - Mom-Mom and Poppy.

I love looking at all the old photos on this site. When I find the box with my old photos in them, I will contribute some. I remember some taken when we took a class trip to the Statue of Liberty and we all wore white scarves on our heads. What fun and we all felt so safe!

I am a part-time Creative Memories consultant (This company teaches the value of photo preservation and telling the story of the photos as well as the who, what, when and where. CM makes and sells scrapbooking products).

Would love to get together with our follow grads. Take care and God bless! Linda
