INFORMAL REUNIONS FOR ALL YEARS?

October 3, 2002

Reunions are nice, and the "All Years" reunion ten years ago or so was a real trip. They're also a lot of work though!

Something my fraternity does, that's no work and a lot of fun, is periodic informal reunions. It just takes 4 or 5 people to agree a month ahead of time to show up at an informal place like Houlihan's or TGIF's for drinks and a casual dinner. Then the place & time is announced with no reservations needed. If you have the whole evening free, that's great; but if you can only stop in for an hour on the way to the in-laws, that works too. If you can't conveniently make the first one, there's another one 3 or 6 months later because they're no big deal.

If anyone thinks this might work for OLAS, please post your replies here.

Hi Ted,

Great web site. Thanks for setting it up.

I think your idea of mini-reunions is terrific. It's a much easier way to get people together. And many times events work out better when they are informal as you mentioned.

I spend my time between Fla (near your sister, Kathy) and NJ. If I'm in NJ when a reunion is planned, I'd love to be there.

I like that approach Ted. Knowing when and where gives each of us the option of stopping in and if it ends up that you can't make that particular get together no one is inconvenienced. Melba
