Services:
Provider of vacuum coating/metalizing equipment and toll
coating services for the medical, lighting, automotive,
aerospace, electronic and machine tool industries. VTI®
applies wear resistant PVD coatings on tools and injection
molds, as well as, functional, decorative and electronic
shielding coatings on parts that have been injection molded.
Company Profile:
Vergason Technology, Inc. (VTI®) was started in 1986
as an innovator in physical vapor deposition (PVD) coating
services and equipment manufacturer. Our processing
knowledge of thermal, cathodic arc and sputtering coating
technologies has established VTI as the industry leader in
meeting customer requirements with creative solutions.
Expanding to better support the International market, VTI
has a strategic alliance with Daiichi Jitsugyo Co., LTD of
Tokyo, Japan and a service center in Krakow, Poland.
VTI's Equipment Group concentrates it's efforts on
the vacuum-deposition of metal films on plastic or various
other substrates for reflectivity, EMI/RFI shielding,
decoration and hard coatings. We design and manufacture a
standard line of Press-Side® Rapid Cycle Metalizers with
In Chamber Top Coating option, utilizing Sputtering,
Cathodic-Arc (Cat Arc®) and Thermal deposition
techniques or we can design custom equipment to meet our
customer's requirements including ceramic hard coating
equipment.
VTI's Coating Services Group applies thin film
ceramics and ion surface treatments to metal and carbide
substrates to prolong the life, increase performance, and
reduce wear on cutting tools, plastic injection molds and
machine components.

Products, Services and Markets
Vacuum Metalizing Equipment: The Press-Side®
Rapid Cycle Metalizer is designed to apply thin metal films
on plastic components. The Press-Side® Rapid Cycle
Metalizer can be incorporated into cell manufacturing
concepts by having the metalizing occur right after plastic
components are ejected from their molds. Current
applications for the Press-Side® include automotive
lighting, consumer lighting, EMI/RFI shielding and
decorative coatings. Today's lines of Press-Side® Rapid
Cycle Metalizers, with In-chamber Top Coat are available as
manual, Gantry loader, or with humidity control and
automation. Capable of depositing a wide variety of metallic
coatings with cycles as low as forty seconds; these systems
turn out superior finished parts in high volume. As an
additional service to customers purchasing Press-Side®
Systems, VTI® also offers the ability to design and
manufacture the necessary tooling for individual metalizing
jobs. VTI's metalizing systems include preset software
programming, as well as extensive training upon delivery at
customer's facility.
Metalizing Coating Services: VTI® has expanded
their in-house metalizing capabilities to include base
coating, metalizing and protective top coatings. In the
company's controlled environment facility, VTI® meets
all of your demanding thin film coating requirements. The
dedication to provide quality full service coatings with
quick turnaround is another example of VTI® as the
leader in vacuum metalizing technology.
Hard Coating Services: Hard coatings for cutting
tools have become a major focus at Vergason Technology, Inc.
VTI's patented arc source continues to offer coating
solutions to our customers with temperatures sensitive tool
steels such as S-7, A-2 and D-2 to name a few. Hard Coatings
Services has the capability of producing a wide variety of
applications specific coatings. Our coatings have been
especially effective on plastic injection molds. Molders
using abrasive plastic resins have found that CrN
significantly improves the life of their molds, while
improving the coefficient of friction, resulting in improved
release properties.
