Coil,
global leader in continuous aluminum anodizing, inaugurates its fifth
production line located in the industrial zone of Bernburg, Germany.
New line in operation since January 2005
Conceived and financed during
2003 and built since February 2004, the new production line became operational
in December 2004. Since the beginning of 2005, production on this line has
progressively accelerated to meet the strong demand for anodized aluminum in
the world markets.
The Bernburg factory is COILıs
first venture outside Belgium, center of the companyıs production since its
founding in 1972. With its 4 anodizing lines in Landen, Belgium, and its new
line in Germany, COIL now has a total anodizing production capacity of approximately
50,000 Tons (110,000,000 Lbs) per year.
An important event for COIL
More than 150 invitees from all
over the world participated in COILıs inauguration ceremonies presided by the
companyıs Board of Directors and Tim Hutton, its Managing Director and members
of the companyıs management. During the event, guests, including Dr. Horst
Rehberger, LandesMinister for Industry and Employment of the Sachsen-Anhalt
region as well as Mr. Helmut Rieche, Mayor of Bernburg, were able to visit and
appreciate the high quality of the new production facility.
Located in the Sachsen-Anhalt
region of Germany, the city of Bernburg is a community with special
characteristics in the industrial center of Germany and Eastern Europe.
An expanded line of services
The total capacity of the Coil industrial
group is now in position to continuously anodize aluminum coils of 10 Tons (
22,000 Lbs) with alloys in the 1000, 3000, 5000 and 6000 series in widths from
1000mm to 2200mm (39² to 87²) with gauges from 0,3mm to 3,5mm (0,012² to
0,138²) and anodizing film thickness from less than 1 micron up to 25 microns
(0,0000390² to 0,000985²) in a variety of organic and electrolytic colors such
as bronze, gold, champagne, grey, red, blue, green and black.
Growing ambitions
³This venture represents our firm
belief that COIL is a company looking into the future. It is with determination
and enthusiasm that we today baptize a better Coil², said Tim Hutton, COILıs
Managing Director. ³We are convinced that any aluminum rolled product used in
building exteriors and industrial products such as welded tubes or spacer bars
together with aluminum products in electronics and other applications which can
be anodized, will be continuously anodized. With its actions, COIL confirms its
leadership position for many years to come², he concluded. ³Our know-how is
based on our accumulated technology and experience in continuous anodizing
since 1972. We now also have the productive capacity to satisfy growing markets
outside Europe such as North America in particular, as well as the Middle East
and Asia² said Mr. Hutton.
