-----Conductivity of Alodine and Iridite Chromate Conversion Coating
I am informed from various sources that a colourless coating of Alodine is considered conductive.
Would a coating of 0.2g/m2 be considered conductive? This relates to EMI shielding. Can anyone tell me how much is deposited when complying with MIL-C-5541, Class 3?

Hi, Christopher.
I could be wrong on this, but I don't think chromate conversion coatings are conductive in that sense. I think the sense in which they are conductive is in not interfering with the conductivity of the substrate. I would expect that if the aluminum substrate they were deposited onto was a suitable EMI shield before conversion coating, it would remain one after coating.
