-----Galvanic corrosion of masked articles
Is it possible for galvanic corrosion to take place between dissimilar metals in the same electrolyte when they are covered with a masking medium such as wax?

Assuming the wax to be impervious, it should not be possible. My understanding is that for galvanic corrosion you need:
- a difference in potential (which you have because the metals are different),
- an electron path between the two metals (which you would have if the two metals are connected with a wire, or are touching each other, or if one is a coating on the other)
- an ionic path (which you don't have if the solution cannot reach one or both of the metals)
