Student needing assistance on copper plating

Hi, I'm an eighth grader trying to do an science experiment on copper plating. Could you please give me some tips on the best products to use in the whole experiment, including what solution to use and what item is best to be plated. Should I use a penny to plate?

See topic 64 from the collection of previous postings on this site. Tom Pullizzi has given a good answer to this question. Also, look at the frequently asked questions section for this web site to get other ideas for science projects. It may be easier to try zinc plating than copper plating.

Sorry! Finishing.com is temporarily Read-Only.
Ted Mooney is retiring but I have several offers to take it over.
We're working hard to make sure we find it the best new home.
