Looking for mil specs on vapor corrosion inhibitors

I'm looking for some mil specs on vapor corrosion inhibitors. They are Fed. Test Method 101C sub-method 3004, and 4031. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

If you go to the FAQ section of finishing.com, you will find links to various MILSPECS. This place is becoming one of my favorite places to get technical information.

Bradley !

Re vapour corrosion inhibitors, ah, that's something I know nowt about but anyhow the Man with the Dog has told you where to go.

What might interest you is that, in certain cases, these inhibitors certainly help to REDUCE emissions but certainly don't fully control them.

Using a blade type mist eliminator (pedantically, sine curved PVC blades @ 20 mm centres, 2 stage, max. l,500 fpm horizontal airflow design and capturing around l2 microns @ full efficiency ... provided the casing design is superb) AFTER using corrosion inhibitors will vastly improve the capture efficiency.

In some cases where the EPA's highly onerous specs for hard chrome of 0.05 mg/M3, 3 micron (somewhat advanced) mist eliminators are said to easily meet these standards.

Food for thought, anyhow. 'tis best to keep and open mind.

Cheers !
