Finishing need

We are manufacturing a special spring steel component, i.e., carbon steel 20C from Sandvik. We do barreling, etc. Our finish is good but samples of party are mirror finish & even rustproof for which we use oil, it is not acceptable to party. Please suggest some suitable finishing process.

What criteria is not acceptable to the party? I don't understand the question.

I'll take a shot at this question, but it is confusing. First, spring steel normally has a blue colored appearance and/or coating. This color can be removed using treated dry organic materials and the surface finish will polish up to a mirror in about 24 hrs using vibratory equipment, maybe 2 to 5 days in a barrel, or 4 to 12 hrs in high energy equipment. The treated organics leave parts temporarily protected for a couple of weeks provided no one handles parts with their bare hands. Wet processing maybe be shorter using stronger chemicals, but I think you can avoid a lot of problems using the first approach.

Do I understand that the rust preventative is the problem? There are some new completely dry processes that can eliminate the need for rust preventatives. You never get the parts wet, therefore no need for the rust preventative.
