Black Colour On Small Brass Component

We are developing an Export Oriented Unit in India at NOIDA. We are facing some problem in doing black colour on brass component of Diameter 2.4 and length 4.0 mm . The colour needs to be so rigid that it should not come out during a crimping operation on it with 4 Ton press machine.

I don't know what blackening process you use, but simple chemical blackening processes are most often used in "relief" style decoration where they are rubbed off the highlights relatively easily and retained in the relieved areas where there is no abrasion. Such coatings sound destined to fail in this application. There are proprietary electro-blackening processes which might work but I don't personally know the details.
