-----Aluminium coating ceramic
2000
Dear Sirs,
I am searching for a suitable coating to use in an underground mining application. I need to coat an aluminium monorail beam in order to prevent any contact with corroded steel. The beam will be loaded with a max 750kg bearing load. I have read some of you other messages that talk about surface protection peeling off in a bearing load situation. Is there a coating (ceramic or other) that will not peel but have increased hardness, and not reduce the friction factor (I need to also apply a brake pad to this surface)?

Hi Andrew. I'm not sure I understand the exact situation, but hardcoat anodizing would offer a very hard, corrosion resistant, wear resistant surface which should exhibit a good and consistent coefficient of friction.
