-----CORROSION RESISTANCE VERIFICATION
One of the ways of verifying corrosion resistance of zinc plating on steel (M.S)(Plating thickness 5-15 microns)is by conducting Neutral salt spray test. This test goes on for few days to indicate failure.
Is there any accelerated/quick test available, which can produce the results within a few hours / minutes ?
Are there any special instruments / Methods (DESTRUCTIVE / NON DESTRUCTIVE) for evaluating the coating thickness of zinc on steel ?
We seek responses from technical / industrial experts.

There are very simple, inexpensive devices consisting of a magnet and spring arrangement that can be used to nondestructively measure the thickness of zinc plating on steel. For more money, you can have an electronic version that will record and print the test results.
