-----Refinishing Mirror Housing on Barracuda
2000
I have two outside mirrors on a classic Barracuda that I want to refinish. I can remove the mirror glass easily enough. The refinishers here all want me to take the assembly apart. It will crack it to do this. Can I refinish it as it is.
Thank You,
Maury Thompson

Unfortunately, I am not familiar with the outside mirrors on this car, and most of the readers probably aren't either. It depends on whether you want it painted or plated, what the assembly is made of (plastic, diecast zinc, aluminum), and the quality you expect of the finished job. Get back to us with more detail.
