-----Plating of Chain Sprocket
I am restoring a Honda scooter from the 60's and have a question regarding the plating of the chain sprocket. Of course the bike will look new with the new chrome plating but I don't think that the chrome plating will hold up with the friction and wear of the chain on the sprocket. I am looking for the hardest plating that might hold up and still be a silver color. Any help will be appreciated.

The answer is chrome, so you might want to re-check the source of your assumptions 🙂. Heavy chrome plating is applied to machine parts for wear resistance because it's so hard. Please see our "Introduction to Chrome Plating". Good luck.
