-----Help - Bronze effect
Hi there, my name is Xavier Arce. I'm the production manager of a furniture (sofa's) shop. Occasionally, customers want custom brass handles or buttons added to their product. Since we are a small but high-end shop, they do not want hardware parts from Home Base/Club.We have a vendor who provides unfinished parts but does not do coatings. Another vendor can but, their lead times are 5-to-6 weeks which is too long when customers want their product now. Therefore, I am trying to ascertain the process and materials/equipment to coat raw metal into brass or bronze look.
Anyone out there that can refer me to a site or provide information. Thanks - Xavier

Believe me, you don't want to start your own plating shop for this, especially in California. What you want to do is find a plating shop that can give you a turnaround time of a couple of days, max,and they do exist.
As for technology, while you could specify real bronze or brass plating, it may be more practical to nickel plate the parts and then apply an electrophoretic or lacquer tint coat.
