Hi, can someone tell me what kind of surfactants are used in a three stage ferrous phosphating system? The material will be used in a spray system. I will appreciate your help. Roberto S.

It sounds like you are looking for a Cleaner/Phosphate. There are several choices available and your method of application, type of substrate and type of soil will determine which one is best for you.

It sounds to me like he is already formulating his own cleaner/phosphate and is looking for a surfactant to add to his formulation. Would the type of substrate and type of soil have an impact on his selection of a surfactant?

I can highly recommend Triton DF12 from Union Carbide. It is a very low foam product even at below 30 deg C and is an excellent degreaser. R
