How to test purity of red iron oxide?

Q. How to test purity of red iron oxide?

A. Hi Atif.

Please don't post your question as a flash-card quiz; no one enjoys them, and it decreases the odds of you getting a satisfactory answer. Please tell us where you use this red iron oxide and where it comes from so we have some idea of what the typical purities are and should be, and what sort of contaminants would be likely to be found.

Do you need to test each 1 gram sample before use for an exotic nano technology development, or are you talking about an incoming inspection as you receive the material in bulk by the truckload? Thanks!
