Need PVD or sputtering of Titanium Alpha onto steel coupons

February 7, 2011

I am looking for someone to coat Tantalum Alpha at about 50 microns but Tantaline may not work as it is too hot for the steel substrate which will lose temper at over 350 - 400 C.
Foes anyone have a setup to PVD or sputter Ta onto a steel test coupon at 50 microns? I need a sample coupon done and it cannot lose temper, must be completely and evenly covered, must withstand HCl and NaCl with no corrosion, must adhere and remain ductile without delaminating or allowing corrosion when part is stretched under spring tension forward/backward and back
I have a method and system to PVD coat but do not have the right beam guns/crystal heads to vaporize the Ta at the moment.
Can ANYONE do this at a reasonable price?
If so please let me know.
