Troubleshooting electrolytic plating rectifier fluctuations

January 13, 2011

Hello,

I'm Joel Bagaslao from a captive plating shop. I just wanted to know if there is any instrument that can detect the abnormality of the rectifier flactuation. My involvement I had 32 sets of Single plating rectifiers to maintain for electrolytic plating such as (Pure Tin/Nickel and copper plating.

I have no idea yet for the common problem may be encounter in the future. I'm an Equipment Technician on this plating line.

Thanks

Hi, Joel.

An oscilloscope meter can display those fluctuations, but a simpler and less expensive device called a "ripple meter" can more simply tell you if the rectifiers are limiting the fluctuations to within spec. Good luck.
