Alternative ways to achieve metallic finish on paper/plastic

I'm looking for alternative ways to produce a metallic image on paper or plastic film. The most used method is vacuum metallisation with aluminum but can it be done in other ways? I would appreciate any tip of technology or contact person. Thanks in advance! BRGRDS, Patrik Duvander
