Coating Steel Wire with Niobium, then Anodizing the Coating to Create Colors

January 21, 2010

My company is looking to create a consumer product made of sturdy 304 (or similar) stainless steel - but we'd also like to offer customers with a choice of colors. Is it possible to coat the steel wire with niobium and then to anodize the resulting coated wire to create the appearance of colors? I would be glad to hear from production shops with which we could contract for the necessary work (including associated consulting costs, if any).
