Carbon Steel Etching




Our Company do ething proses by using Carbon steel as our material.
Etchant is 20% ferric chloride [on eBay or Amazon] 80 water. The problem happen is the surface not smooth and not clean, it was black and rough surface and also uneven thickness..

Some parts will be better and some will be worse, but what you see now is probably the median of the results.
Take a look at electroetch. It is faster and tends to give a nice result when you get the parameters at an optimum. It does cost more.
Good looking option is engraved with CNC equipment.
Laser CNC is another option. very precise, but expensive startup.
