Need matte aluminum for refrigerator grill (kickplate) refinished

I need to have 2 matte aluminum refrigerator grills (kickplates) recoated or repainted. An attempt to clean resulted in the finish coming off in some spots revealing a very shiny aluminum under the matte finish.
