Cleaning 304 stainless steel wire rods

WE MANUFACTURE SS CLIPS FOR WHICH WE TAKE THE HOT ROLLED SS COILS.WE THEN ROLL INTO REQUIRED HALF ROUND WHICH DEVELOPS THE HARDNESS FOR WHICH WE ANNEAL IT IN CLOSED ATMOSPHERE THEN WE ALLOW IT TO COOL IN THAT COVERED STATE.IT BECOMES SOFTENED SO THAT WE CAN FORM THE CLIPS.NOW WE REQUIRE TO POLISH IT TO A BRIGHT SURFACE WHICH WE DO BY CLEANING IN H2SO4 AND HF SOLUTION.THEN WE TUMBLE IT FOR HALF HOUR.BUT WE DO NOT GET THE REQUIRED BRIGHTNESS PLEASE SUGGEST.

It sounds as if your last operation is causing the problem. If you tumble the S.S. rods, are you using either S.S. or porcelain media? Another problem maybe the liquid compound used in the tumbling operation. Check the chemical to make sure it has good lubricity and is recommended for burnishing.
