Acid Copper? Pits and imperfections on Sterling .925 Tray-Can anyone acid copper to fill it?

February 28, 2009

I have customers Sterling silver bread tray app. 12" x 6" that had a dent and hole in it... we prepped it as best we could and had the hole Lasered with a plug (also sterling).

Problem is after finishing out there are tiny holes from the Laser and some small pits from the fill.

I was told that plating with Acid Copper would fill them and then we can plate it with Silver. (We only have cyanide copper)

We are in Dallas and would prefer someone close but can ship it to someone that can assist.

Or, any other suggestions to finish it out would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
