Watts Nickel Plating Hardness




In what concentration level of the following will affect the plating hardness?

nickel sulphate 220 to 270 g/l
nickel chloride 60 to 80 g/l
boric acid 45 to 60 g/l

temperature 55 to 65 °C

is only higher concentration level of nickel chloride?

Hi, Sam. Sorry, but I don't understand your question. Plating isn't like a go/no-go gauge where you reach a certain threshold and then everything suddenly and abruptly changes. Rather, it's a continuum. Please try to describe your real-world issue and we can try to comment on it. But Safranek's "Properties of Electrodeposited Metals and Alloys" should offer you the data you need for what contributes to hardness in nickel plating. Thanks.
