Urgent. Need Plating of AZ91D magnesium w/
bright acid tin over high phos Ni [Texas]
May 2, 2008
Our current supplier of the above product went under, and we are
now in search of trying to find someone that can plate magnesium. The
old supplier used a copper adhesion layer, nickel barrier layer,
electroless nickel, tin finish. The Nickel was roughly 86% nickel,
14% phosphorus by weight.
All of the new platers fail miserable when subjected to a salt fog
test. The plating and subsequent base materials corrode and blister
severly.
Any immediate help would be appreciated.....there doesn't appear to
be many platers of magnesium out there.....
