Need Chrome Stripping Job Shop [New Jersey]

March 12, 2008

I finish and refurbish golf putters. One of the problems I have with the putter heads is the stripping of the nickel plate or chrome plate finishes. It is particularly a problem on the face of the putter where there are fine milling lines and the putter face cannot be sanded, buffed, etc. I really don't want to get into the process of removing plate because I am busy enough as it is and do not want to learn the process or use the chemicals necessary to remove the plate properly.

While it may sound easy, I have searched internet and the phone book for a job shop that will strip nickel and chrome plated putters with negative results. I have attempted every day for the past 5 days for someone in middle NJ to do this work for me. At this point, I don't really care if I need to UPS the heads to a reliable shop that will do the work for me.

If there is anyone out there that believes they have a solution, please let me know.
