Decreasing infrared emissivity with white paint?

March 10, 2008

Me, and my research partner, Dr. S. Khorasani, are working on a 'costume' which could make the user invisible through Infra-Red Detectors.
As you probably know the emissivity of aluminium foil is 0,1. The emissivity of white paint is about 0,90. Is it possible to decrease! the emissivity of the foil by painting it white?

I thank you in advance,

Dr. E. Lagendijk
