Prepping chrome wheels for powder coating [Indiana]

have a set of motorcyle wheels that are chrome. I am want to either paint or powdercoat them. do I need to have the chrome stripped off of them or can I just spray it.

Paint (or powder) won't stick to chrome. Some powder coaters report good results with a light sandblast, but it may be necessary to acquire some skill at it (have never actually done it myself).
