Zinc plating my jousting armor

2007

I have a full body set of articulating armor that is made from 18 gauge steel. It gets rusty. I would like to plate it (least inexpensive way possible)so that I can decrease the rusting. I have been told that zinc plating is one way to do this. What I need now is to know how.
I will be dealing with parts as small as 2" by 4" and as large as 18" by 24"(breast plate).
Any help is appreciated.

Zinc electroplating is not something you do yourself, Gerald; you would need to send it to a plating shop. If you want to do something yourself, clean it well and then spray it with Cold Galvanizing Compound / Zinc Rich Paint. This will put the zinc coating that you are looking for onto your armor. Good luck, and send us a pic when it's done.
