Disposal Method for waste from treating galvanized metal

2007

We use GALVANISED STEEL WHICH IS PASSED THROUGH compound containing phosphoric 30% , IPA 5% , NON IONIC WETTING AGENT 5% , AMINE BASE INHIBITOR 0.5% ,

The passed steel is washed with water .

What is the safe method of disposal of this treated water

Sunil Kumar Singh
Manager - Delhi, India

Hello, Kumar. Two things to consider. First, wastewater neutralization and discharge is regulated in much of the world. That means that regardless of whatever technical advice you receive, it may be illegal to treat and dispose of it that way; rather, you may need to comply with regulations. Second, you must test the wastewater for what is actually in it, not guess what would probably be in it. Good luck.
