-----Cleaning Anodized Aluminum
Hi Folks,
Thanks for offering this question and answer service.
I am working on a brand new boat, built in New Zealand and shipped to the West coast of Canada via Mexico. All the windows and hatch frames are anodized aluminum. Unfortunately there are many "stains" in the aluminum. Everywhere where water might drip and bead there is a slight dullness to the surface. My guess is that the sealant used around the frames has exuded a mild acid, and this has "etched" the aluminum surface.
Can you make and recommendations regarding polishing or cleaning of the anodized aluminum. The owner of the boat would like a nice uniform shiny appearance.
Thanks for your assistance.

You can use any really pH neutral detergent (without any abrasive particles!), probably there are (in USA) many good proprietary products. 3% bonami solution is good homemade formula (pH must be corrected to 6-8,with citric acid ⇦ on eBay or Amazon [affil link] /or lemon juice/). Hope it helps and good luck!
