Mechanical Zinc Plating

++++++

We need to know what the chemical analysis of mechanical zinc is.

Karen Kirby
Springfast - Providence, RI

++++++

Mechanically deposited zinc is approximately 95% zinc and 5% tin. Since the zinc dust is almost always produced by a distillation process (the Larvik Process) from Special High Grade Zinc, it is extremely pure. The tin comes from the "Promoter" used in the process. Underneath the mechanically deposited zinc is (99+% of the time) a deposit of immersion copper approximately 9 millionths of an inch thick.
