-----How to do Iron plating
I am a sculptor and have heard that it is possible to plate using iron as the medium/plate. Where would I look for information on the subject?

Hi, Steve. Iron plating is used for repair of materials such as worn crankshafts, for applying a non-wetting material for soldering irons, and a few other uses. The formulations are available in several of the standard textbooks, and in articles in the industry journals, although almost everyone purchases a proprietary iron plating bath from a plating supplier.
However (if I'm reading between the lines correctly) it would be highly impractical to make a large statue by iron plating a wood, wax, or plaster item. The plating would be usable only to a thickness in the ten-thousandths of in inch range. Copper or nickel would be more practical platings. Good luck.
