Varying color of firearms "blue" by changing percentages of nitrates

++++++

I am an experienced gunsmith, who has used various hot salt blue forumlas, from commercial, to home made for firearms finishing.

All typically leave a "black" color, will varying percentages of any of the 3 main ingrediants in home made salts, sodium hydroxide, sodium
nitrate and sodium nitrite at 50%, 25% and 25% "boiled" at 295. Will varying this formula in any manner, leave a "blue" color similar to classic charcoal or melted nitrate results? Thank to any and all that might care to respond.
