SPRAYING GOLD METALLICS

++++++

WHEN SPRAYING GOLD METALLICS IT WILL LOOK LIKE IT HAS GOOD COVERAGE BUT WHEN IT COMES OUT OF THE OVEN THE METAL FINISH BLEEDS THROUGH THE FINISH. SHOULT I TRY A BASE COAT OF SAY SILVER UNDER THE GOLD? MIND YOU THIS ALSO HAS A CLEAR COAT OVER IT.

What kind of reading(mils) are you getting on your thickness gage in the transparent areas? I don't think you need a base coat, you just have to apply enough paint to get complete coverage which is relatively easy with metallics powders. The TDS should specify the minimum thickness recommended for your paint.
