Difference between two plating notes for
RoHS compliance [India]
March 24, 2006
Hello,
Can anybody let me know what is the significant difference betwee
these two notes listed below for Rohs compliance.
1. Underplate with 5 micron minimum Nickel. Plate with 10-15 micron
matte tin to
BS-6137 [link is to info about spec at TechStreet]
2. Matte Tin plate per ASTM
B545 [link is to info about spec at TechStreet], class "A" over
Sulfamate Nickel per
AMS-QQ-N-290 [link is to info about spec at TechStreet],
0.0001inches, minimum.
Thank You.

The second^firstspec sounds twice as
thick, Chandrashekar. But one cannot really plate in accord with a
spec that one does not have. Acquiring them is probably step 1, and
see if they clarify the issue. Good luck.
